Akhilesh Bodhi

Additional Information

Born into a large joint family in India, Akhilesh Bodhi began his life working in the family business before choosing a different path. After studying at Lucknow University, he spent two transformative years at Chinmaya Tapovan Ashram in Dharamsala, followed by pilgrimages through the Himalayas to places like Uttarkashi, Gangotri, Kedarnath, and Badrinath. Embracing a renunciate lifestyle, he immersed himself in solitude, spiritual inquiry, and the teachings of nature. Akhilesh later trained at the Sivananda Ashram in Kerala and the Iyengar Institute in Pune, learning from esteemed teachers such as Geeta Iyengar, Prashant Iyengar, and Ramananda Patel. Deeply influenced by Vedanta philosophy and the teachings of Swami Dayanand Saraswati, his approach is both rooted and relatable—bridging tradition with present-day relevance. Today, his teaching is guided by authenticity, presence, and a deep desire to help students experience real transformation—on and far beyond the mat.

Teacher's Message

Namaste, I’m Akhilesh.
Yoga is not just a physical practice—it’s a way of being, a conscious shift in how we relate to ourselves, to others, and to life. I teach to support that shift. In my sessions, I offer structure, philosophy, and presence—so you can meet yourself with honesty and ease. Whether you’re exploring yoga for the first time or looking to deepen your path, my aim is to share tools that stay with you long after the class ends.
