About This Retreat
A Different India, But Very Indian at Its Core.
There is something about practising yoga in India that changes the way the practice is experienced.
This retreat is an invitation to step away from the pace of everyday life and immerse yourself in a week where practice, movement, discovery and stillness can exist alongside one another.
Set in Mandrem, Goa, the experience brings together two distinct approaches to movement and yoga, creating space to explore the practice with curiosity rather than expectation. The intention is not simply to move through a series of classes, but to become more attentive to how we move, breathe, observe and experience ourselves.
Beyond the Practice
Yoga can be approached in many ways. It can challenge the body, refine awareness, create discipline or simply offer a moment to pause.
Throughout this retreat, practice becomes an opportunity to explore those different dimensions.
There is room for intensity and softness, for discipline and exploration, for focused practice and moments where nothing needs to be achieved. The combination of different approaches allows participants to experience familiar practices from new perspectives while developing a deeper relationship with their own movement.
The retreat also creates space for inquiry. Rather than separating the physical practice from the rest of the experience, movement becomes a way of paying closer attention to the body and to the way we inhabit it.
Two Perspectives, One Shared Practice
With two teachers bringing different movement backgrounds and experiences to the retreat, participants are introduced to complementary perspectives on yoga.
This creates an environment where there is room to observe, experiment and find what resonates personally.
The focus is not on performing a particular ideal of yoga, but on developing greater awareness through practice. Whether through a familiar posture, a new movement or a moment of stillness, each experience can become an opportunity to listen more closely.
India as Part of the Experience
The retreat is also about being somewhere.
India is not simply the backdrop to the programme. Its culture, rhythm and energy become part of the experience of stepping outside familiar routines.
Goa offers a particular balance: the richness and intensity of India alongside the slower rhythm of the coast. In Mandrem, time can open up between practices — for a walk, a quiet moment, a conversation, or simply watching the day change around you.
The retreat leaves space for that experience rather than filling every moment with activity.
A Week to Practise Differently
Ultimately, this is a retreat about creating space.
Space to practise without rushing.
Space to explore without needing to have all the answers.
Space to experience yoga beyond the mat.
And space to discover what becomes possible when movement, place and time come together.
A week in Goa to practise, explore and experience India in a different way.
