Retreats on Mandrem Beach, North Goa
Nalanda sits on Mandrem, one of the quieter beaches in North Goa, with long sunsets over the Arabian Sea. It is a place built for retreats, with 8 dedicated shalas, the Soma Cove spa for Ayurvedic treatments and Chia Lounge serving plant-forward food on the beach.
Two kinds of retreat
In-house retreats are designed by our own team: Ayurveda and Panchakarma, women’s health, yoga immersions and recovery. Hosted retreats are led by guest teachers from around the world, who bring their own groups and style of practice to the campus.
How to choose
Start with what you want to come home with. For a deeper practice, choose a yoga retreat or immersion. For a reset of body and digestion, choose Ayurveda or Panchakarma. For cycles, hormones, menopause or the months after birth, our women’s health retreats are led with Ayurvedic care. If you are unsure, tell us what you are looking for and we will suggest the right fit.
When to come
Retreats run all year. October to May is Goa’s dry season, with warm sea and clear skies. June to September is the monsoon, the classical season for Panchakarma, when the campus is green and quiet.
Questions about our retreats
When is the best time for a retreat in Goa?
October to May is the dry season, with warm sea and clear skies. June to September is the monsoon, the classical season for Panchakarma and Ayurvedic care, when the campus is green and quiet.
What's the difference between hosted and in-house retreats?
In-house retreats are designed and led by the Nalanda team. Hosted retreats are run by guest teachers who bring their own groups and programme; you book them with Nalanda or with the teacher.
Do I need yoga experience?
No. Each retreat shows its level, and teachers adapt practice for beginners. If you are unsure, ask us and we will suggest the right retreat.
How do I get to Nalanda?
The nearest airport is Goa Mopa (about 45 minutes by road). Dabolim is about 2 hours away. Ask us about an airport pickup when you book.
Can I come alone?
Yes. Many guests come on their own, and our retreats run in small groups, so it is easy to feel at home.
Can I stay longer than the retreat?
Yes. You can add nights before or after, or combine a retreat with a wellness programme or Soma Cove treatments.
